4 Day Class
This class is intended for both the networking newcomer as well as the experienced network admin. By the end of the class, the student should be able to competently handle most common tasks that routing and switching administrators perform using RouterOS driven products. Most topics are hands on to help you both understand the topics and retain the knowledge.
Network engineers and technicians who deploy or support networks of any size.
MTCNA is Required to be able to take the test. However, its not required to participate in class.
Students must have a strong understanding basic networking concepts such as TCP/ IP, subnetting, networking mediums and interfaces, and networking topologies. While this is the bare minimum, a Network+ level of knowledge or higher will allow the student to get the most out of this class.

MikroTik Certified User Management Engineer
MTCUME is intended for the netwok admin who will be administering RADIUS driven process, tunnels, and/ or hotspots. By the end of the class, the student should be able to competently manage all Userman (MikroTik’s RADIUS platoform), Mikrotik’s hotspot, all PPP based tunneling methods, as well as IPSEC. Troubleshooting and problem solving are emphasized throughout the class. Most topics are hands on to help you both understand the topics and retain the knowledge.
Network engineers and technicians who deploy or support networks of any size. Anyone wanting to learn more about USERMAN, hotspots, or tunneling methods.
Students must have MTCNA to take the exam. As of this year, your MTCNA certification no longer has to be within its 3yr periodicity to take the higher level classes. In other words, as long as you have passed MTCNA at some point, you are eligible to take higher lever certifications. Students who are not interested in testing for the certification, but have a strong understanding of MikroTik products and a reasonable amount of experience may take this class.
This class offers more material than what is in the MikroTik course outline which can be viewed on Mikrotik’s website. In addition to the basic RouterOS knowledge that is covered by the syllabus, real world examples are used for all labs. When class size and time permit, those labs can be customized to look like your network to help each student better retain the information.
Class will begin each day at 9am and run to approximately 5pm. Some days will run over. We will be done on Friday by 5pm. The meeting room is downstairs, across from the vending area.
Free trip to the Houston Space Center. Any student attending class is welcome to stay over on Saturday and join us for a tour of the Houston Space Center. General admission will be paid by Rick Frey Consulting.
